Planting for the future

In early December, North American representative partners traveled to The Senator Group’s UK global headquarters for a week of connection, learning, and forward planning.

The visit combined factory tours, strategic discussions, and a showroom experience in London, giving the group a well-rounded view of the business from design through to production.

Alongside these activities, the visit included a hands-on sustainability initiative. Each participant planted a sapling tree on the factory grounds, contributing to a growing landscape designed to support long-term environmental impact. Together, these trees are expected to help save an estimated 20 tons of carbon over their lifetime, reinforcing the role that small, collective actions can play in addressing larger environmental challenges.

The newly planted maple and hazel trees have been thoughtfully positioned next to raised garden beds and honeybee hives. This placement supports biodiversity on site, helping to create a balanced ecosystem that benefits pollinators while also contributing to the production of honey used in staff restaurants. It is a practical example of how sustainability can be integrated into everyday business operations.

This initiative builds on a much larger reforestation effort led by The Senator Group, alongside local schools and the Ribble Valley Trust. To date, 30,000 trees have been planted across 30 acres of land owned by the Mustoe family. Over time, these trees are expected to sequester around 8,000 tons of carbon, while also supporting local wildlife, improving air and water quality, and contributing to flood mitigation in the surrounding area.

Together, these efforts reflect a long-term commitment to environmental responsibility, rooted in collaboration, education, and action.
