We’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR team supporting multiple manufacturing sites across the East Lancashire area, where no two days are the same.
This is a hands-on operational HR role requiring a calm, level-headed approach and someone who is comfortable working across teams with varying levels of capability and experience. You will partner closely with managers and supervisors, providing practical HR support and guidance whilst building strong stakeholder relationships across the business.
The successful candidate will not be afraid to roll their sleeves up, take time to understand the operational processes, and become a trusted presence within the business. You’ll have a strong sense of people and context, able to read the room, bring people with you, and quickly build credibility and trust at all levels. Most importantly, you will have a genuine passion for helping others perform at their best.
What you’ll be doing:
• Handle a range of employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, and grievance processes.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures and advise on best practices.
• Stay on top of employment law changes, using your insight to steer decisions with care, balancing compliance with a human approach.
• Guide and coach managers with varying levels of experience, flexing your style to build confidence and capability.
• Be proactive in identifying early signs of people challenges, offering calm, thoughtful support to prevent issues from escalating.
• Help embed a culture of openness, accountability, and consistency across teams.
• Partner with managers throughout the entire employee lifecycle, offering trusted guidance every step of the way.
• Build strong relationships and become a go-to person known for getting things done the right way.
• Supporting key people projects and rolling up your sleeves when needed.
About you:
• Solid HR background, preferably in manufacturing or a similar hands-on industry.
• A strong grasp of UK employment law, and the skill to apply it in a way that makes sense in real-world situations.
• Confidence to advise, challenge and support managers at all levels, with a focus on developing emerging people leaders.
• Experience handling employee relations issues and providing sound advice to managers.
• Comfortable having honest conversations, balancing empathy and fairness to achieve the right outcome.
• Able to evaluate situations and deliver clear, reliable guidance.
• CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent HR qualification.
